I believe the job of a design leader is to raise the ceiling on what a team believes is possible, and then hold it there. That means being specific about quality, not just aspirational about it. I spend real time in the work: in critique, in jam sessions, in the details that make the difference between something that ships and something that sticks. I subscribe to the philosophy of lead by example, while also creating a culture of intrinsic motivation. Velocity is a measure of the team's ability to deliver value quickly, not just the amount of work they do. Also, humor and finding joy in the work is always my top priority.
